Paying from the mobile app

Cet article n'existe pas encore dans votre langue, il s'affiche donc dans une autre.

Subscriptions can be purchased both on the website and directly in the app. The difference isn't in the plan — it's the same — but in who takes the money: on the website, it's us; in the app, it's the App Store or Google Play. Everything else on this page follows from that.

Where to find it in the app

Menu → Subscription. The screen is accessible to all team members, but only the owner can buy and cancel — for others, it shows the current plan and a hint that the owner manages the subscription.

The store charges you

Charging occurs at the moment of purchase confirmation — Face ID, fingerprint, or store button — not when you clicked "Apply" in the app. The store then manages the subscription: it renews it and issues the receipt.

When the purchase is complete, you'll receive a notification "Subscription activated" — with the name of what was enabled. The amount isn't intentionally included: the store charges in your currency and doesn't tell us what it is, the exact figure is shown on the store receipt.

Access is granted to the whole team in any case, regardless of where it was purchased.

In what currency are the prices shown?

In the mobile app — both on the plans screen and the AI subscriptions screen — you might see two scenarios, and they mean different things:

  • US$29.99 and the caption "Prices are in USD..." — this is our price, the same for the whole world. This is how it appears before the store has substituted its own: both Canadian and Australian dollars use $, so we specify which one is meant.
  • $29.99 / 39,99 CA$ / 2 890 without a caption — the price has been substituted by the App Store or Google Play, already in your currency and including local tax. That's exactly what will be charged.

The exchange rate and tax are calculated by the store, not us, so our figure and the store's figure may differ slightly — this is normal.

Changing your plan — the store handles the proration

  • Google Play replaces the subscription with proration: it charges the difference for the remainder of the period, and the renewal date remains the same.
  • App Store activates the new plan immediately, refunds the unused portion of the old one, and charges for the new one — financially, it's the same difference.

Downgrading your plan in both stores is postponed until the next renewal — nothing is charged or refunded now.

Cancellation and card changes — in the store, not with us

If the subscription was purchased in the app, we don't have its card details and have no right to cancel it: both belong to Apple or Google. Therefore, instead of an "Cancel" button, the subscription screen shows a "Manage in the store" panel — it leads to the subscription page in your store account. Cards are changed there too, in your Apple ID or Google Account settings.

The button that can't work isn't there intentionally: a cancellation that doesn't cancel is the worst possible response to such a request.

Restoring purchases

Reinstalled the app or logged in from a new device — the purchases screen has "Restore purchases". It asks the store what you have registered and restores access. This is specifically for store purchases: items paid for on the website are already linked to your account.

If you paid on the website

Then the app will say: "Subscription is paid on the website — manage it in the web version". Neither cancellation nor card changes can be made from there — they must be done where you paid.
