Plans and goals

Scheduled transfers between accounts

This translation was produced automatically and hasn't been reviewed yet.

Scheduled operations have three types: expense, income, and transfer. A transfer is the regular movement of your own money from one of your accounts to another: setting aside ₽20,000 to a savings account on the 5th of each month, paying off a credit card from your salary account, or topping up a foreign currency account.

How to create

  1. Go to the Scheduled section → +.
  2. At the top, select the Transfer type.
  3. A second account field will appear: From account and To account. The source account is not offered in the destination list — transferring to yourself isn't a transfer.
  4. Everything else is as usual: amount, frequency, start date, weekend rollover, automatic creation, tags.

What happens on the execution day

One transfer operation is created — a regular pair, just like if you made the transfer manually: it appears in the operations list on one line, and can be edited and deleted as a whole.

If the accounts are in different currencies, the amount is recalculated at the rate of the day the plan is executed — not at the rate when the plan was created. Therefore, only one amount is specified in the form: how much leaves. How much arrives is determined by the day's rate; this is exactly how it happens in real life. The form will warn you about this as soon as you select accounts with different currencies.

If there is no rate for the required day at all (exotic currency), the plan will not execute and will not create anything — instead of an imagined amount, the system will wait and try again later when the rates are updated.

How a transfer differs from an expense in reports

A transfer is not a spending: the money remains with you, just in a different account. Therefore:

  • Transfers are not counted as income or expense in the 30-day forecast;
  • Transfers are not included in the Subscriptions and recurring payments report — it's not a subscription;
  • Subscription payment notifications are not sent for transfers;
  • In the list of plans, transfers have their own color and icon (⇄), and the "Transfers" filter in the mobile app shows only them.

The "Transfer" tag is applied automatically

Each transfer automatically receives the Transfer tag — for both halves of the pair. It is created once per team upon the first transfer, in the language of the person who made it, and then it functions as a regular tag: it appears in the tag list, and you can filter and search operations by it.

What can and cannot be done with it:

  • Renaming is possible. The tag is recognized not by its name, so after renaming, new transfers will receive your new name, and a second tag will not appear.
  • Removing from a transfer is not possible. It describes what the operation is, not what you chose, so it will be restored upon saving. To stop an operation from being a transfer, it needs to be converted into an expense or income.
  • It does not affect spending reports: transfers were not counted as income or expense before, and the new tag does not change this — it will not appear in "Spending by tags".

Transfers made before the appearance of this rule are not tagged — they are processed by a separate one-time service command.

Deleting an account

If a transfer plan refers to an account — whether as a source or a destination — the account cannot be deleted: the plan will first be paused, and the app will ask you to sort it out. This is the same rule as for regular plans, just now the plan has two accounts.
