Reconcile account balance

In simple terms: how to bring the account balance in the app into line with what's actually in the account/card/wallet. Available in the web version and in the mobile app.

Why is this needed

Over time, the balance in the app may diverge from the real one – you forgot to record a transaction, rounding, bank commission, etc. Reconciliation eliminates the discrepancy with one action: you enter the actual balance, and the app itself creates one correcting transaction for the difference.

How it works

1. You open the account and select "Reconcile balance".
2. The app shows the current balance (as calculated in the app).
3. You enter the actual balance (how much is actually in the account).
4. The app calculates the difference (delta) and creates a correcting transaction:
   • if the actual is greater – a correcting income for the difference;
   • if the actual is less – a correcting expense for the difference;
   • if they match – nothing is created (the balance already matches).
5. You can add a note – it will be included in the correcting transaction.

Mobile app

1. Menu → Accounts → select the account (it will open for editing).
2. Tap "Reconcile balance" at the bottom.
3. In the dialog, check the "Current balance", enter the "Actual balance", and optionally add a note.
4. Tap "Apply". You will see the message "Balance reconciled" (or "Balance already matches" if there was no difference), and the list of accounts will update.

Web version

On the accounts page, open reconciliation for the desired account, enter the actual balance (and if necessary, select the mode/category of the correcting transaction) and confirm. The delta calculation logic is identical to the mobile version.

Good to know

• Reconciliation does not delete your transactions – it only adds one correcting one, so the history remains transparent (you can see when and by how much it was adjusted).
• Double-tapping is safe: a second reconciliation immediately after the first will see that the balance already matches and will not create anything.
• The actual balance can be negative (e.g., a credit card in the red).
