On the sign-in screen, below the "Sign in" button, there is sign-in via services. This is both sign-in and registration: if you don't have an account yet, it will be created automatically.
- In the app — Google and Apple.
- On the website — Google.
All this applies to the international version (extmoney.com). The Russian version does not have sign-in via services — see "What buttons you will see" below.
Main points in a nutshell
- You don't need to come up with a separate password.
- You don't need to confirm your email by clicking a link in a letter — Google/Apple have already confirmed it for you.
- We do not see your Google or Apple password.
If you already have an account with the same email
You will be logged into your existing account — all data will be in place, nothing will be duplicated. You can then sign in however you prefer: with a password, or via Google/Apple.
One exception: if you started registration with this email at some point but did not confirm it by email, the old password will stop working — you will be able to sign in via Google/Apple or set a new password via "Forgot password?". This is done intentionally: until the email is confirmed, no one has proven that the account is yours.
If two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled
It remains active: after signing in with Google/Apple, the app will ask for a code from your authenticator. Signing in via a service is one factor, not both.
What buttons you will see
- Apple — only on iPhone/iPad.
- Google — on iPhone, Android, and on the website.
The Russian version (extmoney.ru and apps from RuStore / Russian App Store) has no sign-in via services at all — neither Google nor Apple. Only email and password. This is done intentionally: any such sign-in would mean transferring your data to Google or Apple, i.e., outside of Russia, and the Russian version operates without this.
If the buttons are not visible, use email and password — this is a full-fledged sign-in method, not a backup.
Frequently asked questions
What do you get from Google/Apple? Only your email address and confirmation that it's yours. We don't have access to your emails, contacts, drive, or anything else.
Apple offers "Hide my email" — is it okay to use? Yes. Apple will provide an alias address and forward emails to you. Your account will be linked to it.
I logged out and want to sign in with another Google account. After logging out, the app clears the selection, so the next time you tap, Google will show the account list again.
Can I set a regular password later? Yes — use "Forgot password?" on the sign-in screen, a link will be sent to the same email.
